A more robust version of what Jason outlined in this Tweet: twitter.com/JStaatsCPA/status/1291171318583435264
I'm using Cognito Forms currently to do this, and it works. I asked my programmer husband to build exactly what you're talking about, and then found Cognito Forms. The problem with the already existing solution is it doesn't pull client data from the previous year. I really love the old-school organizers that say, "here's what you had last year, do you have it this year?" and force the client to pay attention to both what they know and what last year informs us. Cognito and TypeForm and similar fail at this because they're only focused on current information. And I hate that old-school organizers assume that only the old things happen, and that it must all exist on a piece of paper, instead of in a Q&A format that gets to what the client actually has going on.
Yes, I know the tax software *kind of* does this. But we also know everyone hates the organizers from the tax software. It asks too much information, assumes the client can/is willing to login to their accounts on that platform, and works against the bias of tax prep just being data entry.
Would love to see this in two forms - One as a smarter, more streamlined replacement for typical organizers. And Two, more along the lines that Jason tweeted, a way to send list of items to client needed to complete, including allowing them to take pictures to upload simple docs from their phone
Agreed! Let's do it.
Thinking about how we can build it in a way that will be as accessible as possible for people.
How many times can I vote for this? 😬
I have built this and have the Typeforms being generated but not consolidated by receiver. Looking forward to working on this one and making it awesome.
This is huge for improving the customer experience.
